Aquarius
The search and rescue vessel "MV Aquarius" is operated by the ngo "SOS MEDITERRANEE" and "doctors without borders" (MSF) since february 2016. Purpose of the search and rescue missions in international waters north of the Lybian coast is the rescue of people beeing in distress at sea. In 3-weeks rotations the MV Aquarius is almost constantly operating between their home port Catania, Italy and the international waters north of the Lybian coast. The team onboard is regularly witnessing the conditions on one of the most dangerous boarders in the world.
