visit Lofa
After suffering from civil war and Ebola, Liberia starts to get healthy again. The people of Liberia begin to get more educated. President Ellen managed to build preschools around to country. But teachers are missing. Students who graduate become new teachers instantly. Adults form literacy classes in their villages to learn to write and read. To be able to write your own name and sign contracts is a huge step for many Liberian people. It is also an important way to protect your rights.
Lofa County is located in the northern part of Liberia. Voinjama , the capital of Lofa County, lies near the Guinean and Sierra Leonean border. The population of Voinjama is about 26.500 people. A lot of the population is originated from the Lorma and Mandingo tribes with many other ethnic groups from the surrounding areas. I visited Lofa County and travelled along members of the city of Voinjama and ngo-workers through the County and visited the people of Lofa.
